UFTI Welcomes Amanda Day to the External Advisory Board

Amanda Day is the founder and president of Day Communications, Inc., an Orlando-based firm specializing in communication and marketing strategies for organizations in the transportation, engineering, hospitality and professional services industries.

Amanda draws on more than 20 years of wide-reaching experience with Fortune 500 companies, infrastructure and transportation agencies, education and retail entities to offer C-Level creative strategies and insights into brand development, customer acquisition, market expansion and strategic communications.

In a given week, she is leading or participating in transportation project marketing and communications initiatives to advance smarter, safer mobility networks. For Bike/Walk Central Florida, Amanda serves as Executive Director overseeing the organization’s Social Cause Marketing, Public Education, Community Outreach and implementation of pedestrian safety enforcement programs.  For the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), her firm is the agency of record for all marketing and communications for the agency and its E-PASS toll transponder operation. For ReThink your Commute, sponsored by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 5, Project Manager, she is developing two pilot programs to drive commuter behavior change with program development, Public Outreach and Education, Social Cause Marketing and Public Relations. For the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), Amanda has served as Project Manager for several programs including the expansion of the national Best Workplace for Commuters membership and recognition initiative.

Prior to launching her firm, Day’s career involved initiating high-level marketing communications and business development programs for Johnson & Johnson, Alcoa and Enron, as well as public policy experience, serving as a legislative liaison for the U.S. House Education and Workforce Committee.

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Colorado State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Her life’s journey in and out of boardrooms, on Capitol Hill, traveling the world and volunteering at an orphanage in Honduras is what drives her to make every day a better day for her valued clients, and her team.
