UFTI Driving Simulator Inauguration, Oct. 28, 2016

The University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI ) will be inaugurating its newly updated driving simulator on October 28, 2016 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Smart House located at Oak Hammock off Willison Road in Gainesville, Florida. A reception will follow the event.

About the Simulator: The simulator contains more visual channels and an autonomous mode that can be turned on and off during driving. The graphics are better quality and so is the steering feedback. The simulator has a modular and scalable design, which allows a researcher to add a motion base, video capture, eye tracking and more. GUI based scenario development and JavaScripting allow for dynamic control of events, vehicles, and pedestrians, sensors, etc. There is a spatialized audio system that adds realism, external to the car cab.
