The Florida Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Florida Division, is proud to present the second of a series of webinars aimed at local agencies in the State of Florida. The webinars are free to local agencies, but do require pre-registration. One Professional Development Hour (PDH) is available to those attending the event.

Buy America Requirement Series

This event will feature a presentation on the topic of Buy America Requirements, a Federal Highway Administration EDC-3 Initiative. Our speaker will be Mr. Rafiq Darji, M.S., P.E., Construction & Materials Engineer with the Florida Division of FHWA. This presentation provides an overview of Buy America requirements and clarifies the law’s implementation and material certification requirements for Federal-aid projects. Mr. Darji will also discuss the possible consequences of not complying with Buy America.

Local Webinar Series

This event will feature a presentation on the use of FHWA Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding at the local level to address safety needs.Our speakers will be Mr. Kevin Burgess, Division Safety Engineer with FHWA Florida Division who will present on safety funding from the federal perspective and Mr. Joe Santos, State Safety Engineer with FDOT who will provide the statewide perspective. The webinar will cover a variety of topics including federal requirements, eligibility issues and opportunities to access these funds at the local level.
