Transportation Operations & Planning Certificate

Transportation professionals are able to expand their knowledge and qualifications in transportation planning and engineering with the Transportation Operations & Planning Certificate. The nine-credit certificate includes courses in transportation systems operations, highway capacity analysis and transportation policy and planning. Students take three of the four available courses and receive a “B” or better. The courses are TTE 6267 (Traffic Flow Theory, 3 credits), TTE 5256 (Traffic Engineering, 3 credits), TTE 6207 (Advanced Highway Capacity Analysis, 3 credits) and URP 6716 (Transportation Policy and Planning, 3 credits). TTE 6267, TTE 5256 and TTE 6207 are already offered online through the UF EDGE program, and URP 6716 is available as a web-based course through the Department of Urban & Regional Planning.  Prerequisites include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited U.S. institution, or equivalent, or at least 5 years of practical experience in transportation. The undergraduate GPA must be 3.0 or higher.
