The city of Miami, Fla., during rush hour.

With Florida being the third most populous state in the nation, transportation infrastructure, mobility and safety are very important to policy and decision makers in the Sunshine state, and discovering new and improved ways to move people and goods from Point A to Point B in an efficient, sustainable, environmentally friendly and safe manner is crucial. The Transportation Program in the Department of Civil Engineering at UF is leading the way in cutting edge transportation research and teaching with exceptional faculty and graduate and undergraduate students participating in research projects, contributing to scholarly publications and activities.
