Transportation Students Participate in ESSIE Poster Symposium
The 18th Annual Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment (ESSIE) Poster Symposium took place on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Press Box in the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Students from all the school’s departments (Civil, Coastal and Environmental) came together to present over sixty-five abstracts on a wide array of subjects. UFTI’s T2 Center is Hiring for a Project Manager Position
The UFTI’s T2 Center is searching for a dynamic, driven, innovative person to manage existing transportation-related grants, and to lead new course development efforts related to traffic engineering, pedestrian and bicycle design and operations, and other related topics. This individual will work within the T2 Center and will collaborate with other UFTI faculty and staff, to ensure smooth running of grant efforts and secure new grant opportunities. The position will also liaise with T2’s workshop and IT teams to develop and facilitate seminars, conferences, workshops, and webinars. Click here to read the full position description and to apply.

Digital Worlds and UFTI Affiliate Hosts Webinar on Driver’s Motion Depth Database
On March 7th, 2016 Dr. Barmpoutis of the Digital Worlds Institute at the University of Florida hosted a webinar to demonstrate how to use the Driver’s Motion Depth Database (DMDDB) that he and his team of collaborators from the University of Kansas and the University of Alabama at Birmingham developed from a STRIDE-funded project titled “Investigating the Effect of Drivers’ Body Motion on Traffic Safety”. McTrans Releases New Roundabouts Module in HCS 2010
The Roundabouts module has a completely redesigned interface in Release 6.80 of HCS 2010.  Following the new architecture introduced for the Two-Way Stop-Controlled module in Release 6.70, the new user view is provided in two forms: sliding pages or split-screen scrolling.  The results report has been upgraded to mimic the Streets module and to be consistent with this new design… [Read more]
