Researching the Efficacy of Using a Driving Simulator to Rehabilitate Veterans Experiencing Driving Difficulty Post-Deployment
Driving is a critical activity of daily living and one that may be compromised in those soldiers returning from operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Sandra Winter of Occupational Therapy is working on a Department of Defense (DOD) sponsored project that is looking at driving difficulty in soldiers returning from combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. New! Transportation Operations & Planning Certificate
Transportation professionals will soon be able to expand their knowledge and qualifications in transportation planning and engineering starting Fall 2015 with the newly formed Transportation Operations & Planning Certificate. [read more]

March 18 – Deadline to Apply for the Transportation Research Internship Program (TRIP)
The TRIP internship program is now accepting applications for summer 2015. Undergraduate students that are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and hold junior or senior status are eligible to apply. Application deadline is March 18th. The TRIP program is sponsored by UFTI/STRIDE. [read more]

T2 Center Offering RSAs to Community Safety Professionals
Due to the high number of injuries and fatalities on Florida’s roadways, the state is the focus of many national safety initiatives. One such initiative is to offer Road Safety Assessments (RSAs) courses at no cost to Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) members. [read more]

McTrans Builds On Transportation Students
The McTrans Center is well known internationally for its software, so programmers are the first personnel to come to mind. But McTrans has found that UFTI graduate students are ideally suited to test software during implementation. Read on to find out more about how one graduate student currently working at the the McTrans Center is not only helping to test and implement Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) software but helping to teach as well.
