The UF student chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (UF ITE) Traffic Bowl Team continues its winning streak. It has secured yet another victory at the Florida-Puerto Rico District Traffic Bowl.

The competition was held on January 31, 2025, during the 2025 ITE Student Leadership Summit (SLS). It was hosted this year by Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The participating teams included those from Florida State University (FSU), Florida A&M University (FAMU), FAU, University of Florida (UF) Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), and Florida International University (FIU). With this win, the UF team now has the opportunity to advance to the International ITE Traffic Bowl, set to take place at the ITE Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, August 10 -12, 2025.

This year’s team members, Sanidhya Dadia and Michael Panarisi, beat their competitors within the Florida-Puerto Rico District, solidifying their dominance in this event. This is the 11th time that UF has won the district competition. In 2013, the team won the International Traffic Bowl Championship, competing against schools such as Pennsylvania State, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and others.

The SLS is a student-led conference that is focused on leadership and professional development. A highlight of this event is Traffic Bowl. Traffic Bowl is a Jeopardy-style game with transportation-related categories, such as traffic engineering, road safety, planning, roads and signage. Universities with an active ITE student chapter take part in this competition every year.
