Did You Miss the Planning for Schools Webinar?

This webinar focused on the connection between school site selection, nearby residential development patterns and implications for school system transportation operations and costs. The speakers introduced audience members to the issue of school siting and transportation and discussed findings from their multi-state study, which was supported through STRIDE funding. In addition, attendees also learned how to use the school site selection decision support tool, referred to as the School Travel Cost Calculator, which estimates public and private transportation costs for potential school sites. The research team’s education module is now available and hosted on UNC’s website at http://schoolsiting.web.unc.edu/.
