Dr. Scott Washburn has been awarded a College of Engineering Doctoral Dissertation Adviser/Mentoring Award for 2014-2015. The honor recognizes Dr. Washburn’s excellence, innovation and effectiveness in advising and mentoring doctoral students. Dr. Washburn has advised more than 100 students since he began his career at UF in the late 90s. Many of his students are currently working in the private and public sectors of the transportation field. His most recent graduate, Dr. Seckin Ozkul (UF 2014), is now a research associate faculty at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida in Tampa and Dr. Jing Li (UF 2012) is an assistant research scientist with the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) at Texas A&M.
