Dr. Scott Washburn Awarded NCHRP Project to Develop Improved Methods for Analyzing the Operational Performance of Two-Lane Highways

A large proportion of two lane highways in the U.S. serve an important role in transporting goods, services and people, and with expanding urban congestion, alternate routes are consistently being sought by shipping companies. This new NCHRP project headed by Dr. Scott Washburn, a transportation faculty member at UFTI, aims to create improved analysis methods for evaluating two-lane highways. [read more]

Dr. Juan Gilbert is a new faculty member at the Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) Department at the University of Florida. His research focuses on creating technologies that can relate to the human condition and how these technologies affect society. [read more]

UFTI Gathers for Annual Picnic at UF’s Lake Wauburg

The UFTI held its annual picnic at Lake Wauburg on Sunday, October 19, 2014. More than 70 people attended the event. The weather was perfect with temperatures in the low 80s and very comfortable. The food was excellent, catered by Mi Apa Latin Café as requested by our students. This year, awards were given to faculty, students and staff, which made for a very nice feel-good gathering. The WTS Florida Gator Student Chapter at UF is hosting its annual Transportation Symposium on November 13, 2014, at the Arredondo Cafe, UF campus.
