The project titled SCC-PG Remote Sensing and Prediction of Environmental Noise to Facilitate Addressing the Social and Health Issues of Noise – Pilot Study: Schools and Hospitals was awarded on July 24, 2021. It is led by Dr. Azad and Dr. Ranka of the University of Florida in collaboration with I-STREET living lab Director Dr. Manjunatha Pruthvi, Dr. Laurie M. Heller from Carnegie-Mellon University and Dr. Alireza Shoajei Kol Kachi from Mississippi State University. The project will create novel methodologies to measure, record, and analyze the environmental noise in large scales for cities using a combined remote sensing technology. This project has great potential to improve the well-being of individuals who reside, work, or spend time in the vicinity of noisy environments and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2022.
