Guoqian Yan is an Application Developer Analyst in the McTrans Center at the University of Florida (UF). She earned dual master’s degrees in Computer Science from UF and Cartography and Geographic Information System from Northeast Normal University, China. She is now a Ph.D. Candidate in the UF Department of Geography with a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems and is expected to receive her doctoral degree in May 2021. She is interested in GIS programming and application development. She has been actively involved in GIS-based programming for transportation applications using Google Maps Platform and JavaScript. She is excited to work closely with McTrans and the University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI) faculty, staff, engineers, and testers and to apply her knowledge and skills in programming and GIS science into the transportation area.
