The UFTI wishes to congratulate Tia Lubbers as the Transoft Solutions Scholarship Awardee for 2020.

Lubbers was honored during an online event hosted by the UFTI and Transoft Solutions, which took place on December 10, 2020 via Zoom. Transoft Scholarships are awarded to junior or senior civil engineering students specializing in transportation. The UFTI wishes to thank Milton Carrasco, President & CEO of Transoft Solutions for his generosity in sponsoring the scholarships.

Lubbers graduated from UF with her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in Spring 2020. Currently, she is working on a master’s degree in civil engineering specializing in transportation.

She became interested in transportation engineering while working for the University of Florida Transportation Institute’s McTrans Center during her third year as an undergraduate student. She has continued to work at McTrans while working on her master’s degree in transportation.

After graduation, Lubbers will begin working for Kimley-Horn in their Gainesville, Florida office.

When she is not studying or working, she enjoys crocheting and reading history books.
