The UFTI wishes to congratulate Jeanine Marrou as the 2020 Transoft Solutions Scholarship Awardee. Marrou graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida in Summer 2020. She became interested in transportation engineering while interning at Gannet Fleming, a global firm specializing in infrastructure solutions across planning, design, technology, and construction management.
“I got to work on projects to help alleviate the congested Miami traffic that I grew up in,” Marrou said. “It was an amazing experience to be able to solve problems that had always been right in front of me.”
Marrou was honored during an online event hosted by the UFTI and Transoft Solutions on December 10, 2020, via Zoom. Transoft Scholarships are awarded to junior or senior civil engineering students specializing in transportation. The UFTI wishes to thank Milton Carrasco, President & CEO of Transoft Solutions, for his generosity in sponsoring the scholarships.
Currently, Marrou works as a transportation engineer for Arcadis in Jacksonville, FL.
A unique and interesting fact about Jeanine Marriou is that she once sunbathed and swam with penguins at a beach in Cape Town, South Africa.
