This joint international symposium, organized by TRB committees AHB40 / AHB20 and FGSV (German Road and Transportation Research Association), combines the 7th International Symposium on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service, succeeding previous symposia in Karlsruhe (1991), Sydney (1994), Copenhagen (1998), Maui (2000), Yokohama (2006), and Stockholm (2011), and the 3rd International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations, succeeding previous symposia in Athens (2006) and Honolulu (2009). Contributions from specialists from all over the world are invited and will be discussed. The conference will provide a common platform for decision makers, managers, traffic engineers, practitioners, and researchers to share their international experience in analyses of highway capacity, quality of service, and of freeway and tollway operations.
